The heart of the SDSI scannable pledge processing system is our dual-head optical scanner. The scanner fits comfortably on your desk, taking up less room than a standard office phone. With a single pass, the scanner can read both sides of a pledge card in under a second and with over 99% accuracy.

With proper care, your scanner should process 25,000-35,000 cards without maintenance. SDSI recommends that you return your scanner to us for cleaning once you have processed 25,000 cards. During the cleaning process, scanners are disassembled and cleaned thoroughly, reassembled and recalibrated and all worn parts are replaced. The general cost is $250.00 plus the shipping and handling.

If your scanner breaks, SDSI will send you a temporary scanner via overnight postage so that you can resume scanning right away. SDSI will return your scanner once it has been repaired.

To use the SDSI scanner, you will need a free serial port on your computer. The scanner works with all versions of Microsoft Windows. The scanner driver is included with the SDSI database package.
