ORGANIZING EMPLOYEE DATA

It is very important that you import the information needed to obtain the reports you wish to see generated from the processed data.

The “United Way the Easy Way” has over 70 data input fields that can be directly imported on your personal computer (PC) or server. These data fields must be in the form of an excel spreadsheet and must have the exact field names as they appear on the Data Input Fields list. These fields however, do not have to be in any special order. The more information included in the spreadsheet the better the system will perform. With a file layout you can take all the information from a fixed length data file and easily create a spreadsheet by opening it in Excel.

Before getting started, you must first decide how you would like your reports filtered. What is going to be your Primary, Secondary, and Third sort? What information do you wish to overprint on the pledge forms? You may print any of the data fields on the pledge forms.

Tip: Overprint a name or location where the cards are going to be distributed. You may use a User Field for any additional information you would like in the database or printed on the card.

By creating a spreadsheet from an existing database, you will eliminate the need to key enter information into a PC and your payroll system.
